More about the team

waterintobeer FC play in the Leeds Sunday League second division. In the winter of 2004 after a (drunken) conversation in the Nags Head Public House, Chapel Allerton, Leeds the team was conceived and a few months later we were ready to start our first season. Our first season in division 3 saw us finish 7th out of 10 and (somehow) get promoted to division 2 after some re-arranging by the league commitee. In our second season we vastly improved and finished 10th and secured safety in division 2. In our third season we finished fifth in division 2 and were promoted once again due to league re-ordering. We only have one rule about our fourth season in the league: 'Do not talk about the fourth season in the league'. In our fifth aseason the team finished bottom of the first division and were thankfully finally relegated. We still have pretty much the same squad as the last three seasons sticking to our principles that this is a team run by friends for friends. The strangers we've met over the last four years are now very much regarded as good friends and socialising is just an important part to our football team as the winning. (which is important as we don't really win much). waterintobeer FC are looking forward to the coming season and hope to cause a few upsets and have a few drinks in this, our sixth season as a proud member of the Leeds Sunday League. Now in our 7th season we have lost 2 of our longest serving members , Tim Livesey and Robin Tear but even with out these two legends *cough cough* im sure we will survive. Last year was our best yet with our first cup final apperance and a strong run at the league title. 2011/2012 proved to be a great year for the Wibs as they gained promotion from the league finishing 2nd and were runners up in the Presidents trophy.
