Home league match played on 23 October 2010.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

This week saw more changes from last week with Jon stepping in between the sticks as Gary was away and Simon slotting back into the defence with Ryan M working.

EH took the lead after about 10mins but we soon responded with a well worked goal after Dan had toe punted a ball through to Luis he calmly lobbed the oncoming keeper to make it 1-1 the game was pretty even throughout the 1st half but EH had a couple of chances but Jon made some great saves (not sure he know too much about them tho !!!) but they went ahead when the ball come across to their man who was unmarked in our 6 yard box and he headed them ahead and we went in trailing 1-2 at HT.

We had not played any football really during the 1st half and we were getting a little bit out muscled so we brought Matt on for Ryan (who was unusually quiet during the 1st half we need to play to our strengths and we didn't do that enough in that 1st half.

We started the 2nd half much better and within 5 mins we were level Luis scoring his 2nd after some good passing saw him shimmy the keeper (who went down quicker than cheap hooker) leaving Luis an open goal to put us level. We scored a 3rd when Martin kept up his amazing scoring run with yet another goal. Then Dan who had missed a couple of easier chances scored his 1st goal for the club with a good header into the top corner. (The shouts of 50p echoed round the ground!!!!!) EH then scored to make it 4-3. Then most comical moment of the game was when after about the 3rd time Luis had danced his way into their box, the keeper was shouting "Don't let him do that, Don't let him do that, in which time Luis had put the ball in the net to score his hat trick and our 5th (we won't mention the massive deflection).

Something even stranger happened then Dal scored his 2nd of the season equalling his total Corinthians goals in his 17 years at the club, another good penalty into the corner. This put us 6-3 ahead and in cruise control but oh no we totally lost our shape and the scored 2 goals to set up a nervy last 5 mins and a big pat on the back for Jon for making a worldy in the last few seconds.

In the end we made it a lot more difficult than we should have, we need to keep our shape better when under pressure and not panic. A good performance in the 2nd half was overshadowed by the fact that we took our foot off the gas and let them back into it. They even nearly sneaked a draw but for Jon boy in goal.

One thing I would like to point out is that we have got a big squad this season so every player will not be able to play every min of every game, so be patient if you are not getting a start and if you have been taken off please understand that I want to give everyone a fair crack.

Next week we are away to Trinity will let you know the match details later in the week.
