Home cup match played on 28 January 2012.
Kicked off at 1:30 PM

The Dolphin welcomed former county cup winners middlestone moormason arms to the YMCA, Manager Craig Parkinson decided to turn up this week and had to earn his corn early on, with 5 of last weeks team missing. Captain Michael Noble, Goalkeeper Martin Jackson, Centre back Karl Adams, wingers Dale Spence and James Shickle unavailable. Ian Redman joined Peterlee with Andy Morris & Brett Gillatt. In came Danny makin and Gaige Lisle on the flanks, Adam Heath went between the sticks, Marc swindle came in at centre back and Liam Frame started at left back. On to the match, and Deja vu, SHOCK HORROR, having conceded the first goal in the previous four games, you guessed it the dolphin gave there opponents there customary goal head start, with Middlestone pinned in there own half and struggling to put two passes together, they broke down the left and the winger played in the striker (2 yards offside at least) who finished superbly, much to the jubilation of the away support. The dolphin kept cool and for the remainder of the half dominated proceedings, swindle volleyed over from a martin 'Gandhi' Hope freekick, Hope curled a shot just over the bar, Farran Pope's free kick was well saved on the stroke of Half time. The 2nd half and it was all one way traffic, Andrew Place was unlucky when his 18 YARD shot hit the bar and bounced on the line, Martin Hope beat the keeper but his shot was blocked on the line by there giant centre Half. It took a real moment of quality to equalise Pope beat a couple of challenges and released Danny MAKIN who beat the full back and swung in a perfect cross to the back post where Martin Hope was on hand to head the ball expertly in the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance, sparking wild celebrations on the dolphin sideline. It didn't take long for the Dolphin to take the lead, Gary 'Bullet' Butts played in Gaige Lisle, his Shot was blocked, the rebound was rifled home by the Outstanding, stand in skipper kris Johnson. The dolphin were in total control and took there foot off the gas, and should have killed the game off, inevitably the masons threw there man mountain centre half up top,and the dolphin gifted the masons a free kick out on the right with the attention on john Hartson look alike man mountain, the dolphin let the little winger alone at the back post he rifled a terrible shot, so bad that it turned into a brilliant cross, cue wild celebrations from the masons arms as the ball was lashed home from 6 yards 3 minutes to go and certain extra time. With 40secs left on the clock, gaige lisle found enough energy to skin the left back and he crossed for Danny Makin to blast home, cue even wilder celebrations, Game over !!!!!!! The match was a bit feisty, masons realised early on that they couldn't bully us, and a fair few yellows were dished out, an entertaining game...Very very disappointed that the MASONS management decided to shun the traditions of the county cup and not come back to the dolly for a pint and instead go home early to feed their sheep  .Pub boss kelvin even more so as he painstakingly prepared a vat of his famous broth for days.
