Home league match played on 04 September 2010.
Kicked off at 12:15 PM

The very first game of the season saw Heyside Juniors B team kick off against Reddish Phoenix B.

Great conditions to play football and this set the team off in a great way.

To say that Heyside B had only been together for two months it didn't show. It was constant pressure from the kick off camping Reddish back in their own half.

Darren Knebel was busy breaking up the play and linking the midfield and attack, setting up numerous forrays towards the Reddish goal. Lewis Bramwell just didn't stop running even when both his shoe laces came undone !!!

Captain Jake Hussian marshalled his players making sure they were keeping great shape and marking their man up at all times.Kyle Fitton was having a storming game in midfield and slotted the ball through to Darren Knebel...was this going to be Heysides first goal.....yessssssss.!!! And what a great goal it was by Darren drilling the ball into the bottom right hand corner..the crowd was in raptures and a massive cheer was heard all over the stadium.

Having calmed down everyone was getting on the ball..some fine defending from Jack Dowd and Jayden Elson made sure attacks were kept to a minimum..Joe Thomas was making himself big in the goal and even when the ball did come close to goal he was there like a puma diving and snuffling out chances.it was great to see the man to man marking at the back, and the size off the attackers never put off Jayden and Jack.

As time went by in the first half the second goal was looming...and some great passing and moving through the middle by Lewis Jake and Darren linked up Kyle Fitton who dribbled past the on rushing defenders and walloped the ball over the keeper..2-0.

Plenty more attacks and corners came but no goals but the players had had a great first half.

Half Time - Heyside Juniors B 2 Reddish Phoenix B 0.

Having had such a great first half it was hard to see them doin it again..but they did !!! Energy energy energy was the key..Heyside B never let up and constantly broke up any of Reddish Phoenix' play. It was really good to watch these young players busting a gut for their team.

There was no letting up, Sam and Alex were doing a fantastic job getting stuck in, Jake was making himself busy running up and down, Lewis carried on from the first half making a complete nuisance of himself and getting some shots in as well.

Kyle was doing some great passing and moving, pulling Reddish all over the place. Sam had a shot from outside the box which nearly crept under the keeper, and more and more attacks came as Reddish tired.

The crowd were in uproar as Joe Thomas decided that his little song and dance routine would liven things up at his end( X Factor is where you should be Joe !! )seeing that he had very little to do..he did stop Reddish on a few occassions in this half.

Late on in the half and the third goal came and it was Jake Hussain who cracked a great shot from 14 yards out which nestled in the back off the net..3-0.

Final Score - Heyside Juniors B 3 Reddish Phoenix B 0.

What a fantastic result with everyone giving 200% effort..it was brilliant to watch and we are all really chuffed that the team got off to a winning start.

There wasn't much to chose between who got the man of the match but just edging it was Kyle Fitton..well done Kyle on getting the trophy and congratulations again to the B team.
