Dorey guns down kids!!!

A Steven Dorey master class put the Young Guns to the sword as the striking hit man found the back of the net with 3 classy efforts.
The Menanian's were bolstered by returning captain and midfield workhorse Patterson, along with debutant Jamie Bradshaw who arrives on a free from former foes Just United.
With all eyes on next weeks Football Mundial show piece against TidyStar the Menanians knew they could not slip up with the above mentioned side currently only a mere two points in advance.
The tangerines set out as a well peeled outfield with Patterson dropping in at the back along side pace merchant Plumpton. Menan had an early scare in the 4th minute as a Young Gun stung the outstretched gloves of Tony Ross who did incredibly well to tip the effort round the post, which showed his true athleticism and cat like reflexes once again. The Menan stopper found himself taking to the field in a brand new keeper outfit, and looked almost as cool as his goalkeeping hero Dave Beasant.
Menan were struggling in the early exchanges to get a foot hold in the game and boss the possesion stats as they so usually do, when suddenly they sprang to life like Dave Lovell on giro day. Debut boy Bradshaw saw an effort cleverly saved by the young keeper as things began to pick up. A deep Menan were slowly pushing on as Dorey and Patterson tried their look at goal as tempers between the sides began to simmer.
Boro Town big wig Patterson tangled with his opposite whipper snapper after he swung out a raking ball to Plumpton on the right. Plumpton brought it down with Premiership class and drove in from the right leaving Tilly in his wake. One defender to beat Plumpton spotted Dorey demanding the ball to the left and found him with a searching ball as Patterson stormed through the play looking to clotheline his annoying opponent. Dorey took the ball in his stride and whipped it in like an ice cream as if the keeper wasnt even there. A supercalyfrage finish. (at the same time Patterson jogged back after delivering his finisher the frog splash leaving the Young Gun tapping out just outside the box).
It wasnt all one way Menan traffic though as Tony Ross again pulled off some saves, almost rolling back the years, quite possibly quite a few as he kept the sheets clean in the Menan net. One minor blemish for our Number 1 was his distribution almost landing the Menanians in hot water as he returned the ball to players who had past it to him previously! Hes one craaaaaaazzzzy cat!
Ward was next to turn nasty as he found himself blue carded and 3 minute sin binned after shoulder charging his opponent off the pitch, Ward was a raging beast and looking to nipple cripple anyone in his wake. Pashby had him sin binned for the Young Guns safety.
Half time 1 - Neil
A brighter second period for the Menanians was to come, albeit a bit patchy. The highlight of the half came as Ward sent Dorey clear and he sent over sensational lob into the Young Gun's net from a mere 10 yards. A contender for goal of the season and one he will of almost certainly pressed rewind on his Sky+ box to view again and again when he got in.
Again the Young Guns pressed and with Plumpton on the sidelines a nervous Moorhouse found himself alongside the captain at the back. Moorhouse was eager to impress after his shin-roller in his previous game and looked to bomb on like Poborsky down the right wing, this left the Menan back line vulnerable and weak like Barrymores anuse after a 12 man house party at his gaff.
Rossy's clean sheet was turd stained as somehow a Young Gun forward rode 3 tackles and rattled home an effort as Patterson spat out at his team mates in disgust "What the F*ck you doing, take him down!!!" His anger sparked the front line into life as almost immediately Dorey profited from some good work from Bradshaw and finished once again in style and completing his hatrick and receiving the match ball. Bradshaw could of finished the game for Menan if he had only shot anywhere but where he did - at the keeper.
In the dieing embers of the encounter the Young Guns pulled another back to leave some final nervy stages but the Menanians pulled through leaving only one subject on everyones lips......Next week!!
Team training will take place at Pindar 7pm sharp next monday with the session and open one for the fans who can meet and greet their heroes before the epic clash the day later with rivals Tidy Star. With Willan banned - who will fill his place in the back line? is there any room for Boro big timers Brooksby, Hawkes and Greening? Will Dorey carry on his hot streak and break Van Dodson's ice cold heart? and why did Steve Mcdonald marry Becky when he could of had Michelle??only time will tell as the Menanians prepare for the biggest battle of their 6 a side careers knowing nothing other than a win will leave them in the driving seat with only 4 games to go!!!
An easy one for match pundit pairing Gazza and Merson as they dished out 24 empty cans of special brew to hatrick hero Dorey after the match for a prolific evening in front of goal.
