<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">LDSFL Div One <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">LEATHERHEAD&nbsp; 1&nbsp;&nbsp; AFC LANES&nbsp; 0&nbsp;&nbsp; (H-t: 0-0) <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Leatherhead edged out Afc Lanes in a tough fought scrappy encounter at Fetcham Grove on Sunday. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Leatherhead were not allowed to play with the freedom they enjoyed the previous weekend by a well organised AFC Lanes, whose direct style proved effective in the early stages, where the home side were guilty of over complicating their play, taking too many passes to make progress whereas the pace offered by the Leatherhead forward line required faster service to release them on a one paced but well drilled Lanes back line. As a result of the frenetic pace, there were very few clear chances created by either side in the first half. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">The Leatherhead defence of Barbato, Sime, Bennett and Man of the Match Zuurbier dealt with everything thrown at them, but the ability of Lanes to win the majority of the second ball opportunities, limited Leatherheads scoring opportunities to long range shots. Ash Dodge was his relaxed and competent self in goal, responding with ease at any testing attempt by the away side. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Holman, and Savitt had half chances, and the introduction of Fitzpatrick gave the side an alternative dimension, and more width. Sime picked up a yellow card on 32 minutes for a mistimed challenge, and Bennett was fortunate to escape a similar punishment when his challenge high up the pitch was penalised. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">It was Savitt who produced the much needed piece of magic with a fine solo goal on 66 minutes, skipping down the left side, with a combination of pace and strength proving too much for the Lanes defence. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">As the game wore on and tiredness began to tell, there were a few impatient challenges from both sides, and Tom Ashdown collected a yellow card late in the game. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Team: <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">1.
