Brockham Green 0 vs 3 Leatherhead FC

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">LDSFL DIVISION ONE <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Brockham Green&nbsp; 0&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Leatherhead&nbsp; 3 <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">A hat-trick by Ed Savitt that included two penalties, saw league leaders Leatherhead home on a frosty morning at The Big Field, Brockham, on a difficult uneven pitch that did not lend itself to easy ball control. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Savitt opened the scoring on 8 minutes having been brought down in the penalty area by a frustrated defender who was beaten for pace. There were no complaints from the home side. The next 20 minutes saw an untidy game with both sides finding the pitch difficult and neither side made sufficient allowances for the surface with poor passing, and over elaborating on a day when pretty football was always going to prove difficult. Leatherhead created the better chances with Savitt, Nick Leyland and Scott Coppin posing problems for the Brockham defence, although the lack of cohesive play meant the best opportunities were down to Leatherhead outpacing the home side, or individual efforts. Savitt made it 2-0 on 38 minutes after the goalkeeper brought down Coppin, and was fortunate to escape with a yellow card. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">In the second half Leatherhead at last adopted a more pragmatic approach and controlled the game.
