Royal Admiral 2 vs 1 Leatherhead FC

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">LDSFL Division One <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">ROYAL ADMIRAL&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 2&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; LEATHERHEAD&nbsp; 1 <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Leatherhead suffered their first defeat of the season, after early errors cost them dear, but a fine rally in the second half deserved at least a point. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Royal Admiral took the lead after 4 minutes with a well taken header from a corner that gave Joe Peak, in goal, no chance from close range. There followed a period of consolidation by Leatherhead who steadily grew into the game, getting control of the ball in midfield with Nick Leyland being the pick of the players. Leatherhead had superior pace, and needed to probe the Admiral defence with the ball hit to feet, rather than in the air where the central defence of the home side were dominant. After 30 minutes Admiral extended their lead, against the balance of play, when what should have been a hopeful long ball was not dealt with by the Leatherhead defence, resulting on a one on one that Peak was unable to foil. <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">&nbsp; <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">Leatherhead showed great spirit in the second half, dominating play, getting the ball into wide positions on a regular basis, but being unable to convert a series of half chances. Nick Leyland pulled a goal back after 72 minutes finishing a well struck free kick from Steve Fitzgerald.
