Away league match played on 18 October 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Today we showed yet again that we are starting to earn ourselves a name as possible contenders to win this league, although Ches Red Lion are bottom of the league they certainly arent the worse team we have played but today we were just a superior outfit, we did have a couple of shaky moments, there 2 forward lads were very capable but we showed spirit again to come back and win comfortably.

We started with a 4-3-3 today purely due to us having 6 strikers turn up, so a start back to the team for Daz Fearns after injury and a start for hunty at Centre half, we couldnt have started any better really after 10 mins Chris howell thread a ball through for Jeffers to tap in past the keeper taking him to 11 for the season. We continued to press and then after 25 mins Daz Fearns fed in from another Chris Howell touch to bag his second of the season.  We did concede 10 minutes later through a defensive error, there forward outpaced us and they clawed the game back to 2-1

We struggled in the first half a little with 3 in midfield as they had a very large pitch and beany Morgan and Goldy were forced to do alot of running to keep getting back and forward on the break. With half time encroaching we had the game under control, what we didnt expect is that 1 minute after half time we would concede! we gave them far to much time on the ball at the edge of our area and a long range strike was poorly dealt with and ended up in the back of the net.

We didnt let that affect our game and continued to press forwardas on the 55th Minute Daz Fearns did an excellent job of chasing down a long ball and winning us a penalty. In form Jeffers stepped up and scored albeit one of the worse penalties I've ever seen :) Number 12 for the man in form!

We continued to make life difficult for them with Daz and Jeffers constantly heckling their back 4 and on the 65th minute we forced their defender to head back to his keeper, unfortunately for him the keeper wasnt there and we were 4-2 up ! It was a shame for the lad as he was probably their best player.

The game did start to degrade a little as we piled on the pressure a few rash challeneges were made and their centre half was sent off for a second yellow offense. We kept our cool though and didnt rise to it.

We changed it around after half time and scott horton came on for Chris Howell and we moved to a 4-4-2 formation and wayne moved up from right back to right mid, I felt it did make it easier as a team to play on a pitch that was that large.. Daz fearns came off with about 20 mins to go and was replaced by Andy Alexander who's fitness levels are much improved and did some excellent chasing down and interlink play with beany down the left . And Andy beardmore came on with 15 mins to go when wayne picked up an injury to his ankle.

With continued pressure we forced a throw in down the right and Morgan lofted the ball in for Beany to score at the back post, for his first of the season! There are rumours that already this early on in the season its a contender for goal of the season, but there are also rumours that it was a miss-kick i'll let you decide !

Big thank you to Millward for running the line today and Rossco for sorting everything out.

Some excellent performances from Taff, Morgan and Goldy today. With taff being awarded the man of the match By Ross for a solid performance at centre half!

Cup game next week against a team from Stafford at Home. Lets make it 4 wins on the trot!
