Home league match played on 13 December 2009.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who came today and showed commitment and gave 100%

I was panicking this morning as some players failed to turn up for whatever reason and if you'd have given me a draw this moning i'd probably have taken it! But as it happens we had more turn up than i thought and in the end the players who dont always start really stepped up to the plate.

We played some great football in the first half and dominated proceedings, we may have been slightly fortuatous with the 1st goal but it was desrved, despite the fact that we could have been 1 down inside 5 mins.  The first goal coming from a Paul William sfreekick which Goldy got his head to, as the ball was heading to the goal Jeffers got his head o it to help it on the way :)

The second goal came from continued pressure, I think we had a throw in down the right hand side, a Birch defender cleared the ball it landed to Beany on the edge of the 18 yard box  for him to Volley home in the bottom right hand corner. Moments later we were 3 goals up when beany swung a deep ball in from the left for Andy Beardmore to then Volley home.

We started the second half well but semed to lose all shape a long the way and it times we were stretched. We did conceed late on but we never looked in to much trouble. We looked Tired for some reason but a great win none the less.

Scott Horton - Stepped up today in Goal did a cracking job, a well deserved 8 this week, thanks very much Scott.

Guy Priest - I'd probably say Guys best game so far against there best player down that side, stayed on his feet and again a well deserved 8

Dave Rowley - A strong game for Dave this week, did well under pressure, organised himself well.

Wayne Pickerill - Out of position this week but just showed why he is so versatile, excellent game at Centre half, and a well Deserved Man of the Match award, barely put a foot wrong.

Jay Kirb - Great solid game, what we come to expect from Jay week in and week out. Led the back 4 fantastically.

Andy Beardmore - Not played for a while and bought straight back into the side, was quiet at times the service wasnt getting to him but scored an absolute screamer, making him 2nd highest scorer for the season.

Paul Williams - Had a great first half worked very hard and created some good opportunities, did lose his way in the second half a little, but it isnt his position in the centre of midfield.

Simon Gold - Workhorse in midfield, never gives in always 110% had to work twice as hard in the second half, great performance.

Beany - 1 Goal, 1 Assist

Melv Danels - Worked very hard today holding the ball up and making space, very good strong performance and had his best game yet for us.

Nick Jeffers - Worked hard again, was a little quiet at times but managed to sneak another goal in taking to 16th for the season.

Andy Alex & Chris Howell - Big thanks for being subs today it was very hard up there in the second half and you didnt have a lot to work with through no faults of your own.

Another Home game next week and with White Lion losing today we have the chance to apply more pressure at the top.!
