BACK ON WINNING WAYS

Fantastic performace from everyone on the team today it really was, we worked very hard and played some great passing football and in the end we destroyed them !

We reverted back to a 4-4-2 today and we look more comfortable that way, things couldnt have started better when Andy Alexander combined with Jeffers to place a sweet little lob over the keeper and put us 1 up inside of 5 minutes. We went on from there and Andy Beardmore 10 minute later latched onto a Andy Pik monster kick and skillfully kicked the ball up twice and lobbed the keeper once again to make it 2-0 at this early stage we were in complete control

We continued to press and came close on a number of other opportunities and then as we progressed to half time Andy Beardmore ghosted down the right and drilled the ball across the box for Jeffers to side foot in our 3rd and his 13th for the season !

Half time came and went and straight after we subbed Andy Alexander (slight groin strain) for Paul Williams, we were just as effective in the 2nd half as we were in the first and we probably had more chances in the 2nd period. Morgan was then assisted by Williams to drive home our 4th of the game and Smithy Burslem were looking well beaten.

We did conceed unfortunately, there substitue forward came on and skillfully took on our defence and scored in the top corner!

But we continued to press and Andy Beardmore got a 2nd goal and then a 3rd to complete the Hat trick and the final result was 6-1. We could have had more but you cant complain at that kind of result. A vast improvement over the striking of the last couple of weeks.

As we had such a great game i'll individually report on the players.

Andy Pik  - Didnt manage to keep a clean sheet today which is a shame but some very good saves and was out to the ball quickly and his kicking was fantastic. Also got his first assist!

Scott Horton - Best game yet for me was very strong defensively and was getting his head and chin to everything ! Very good long throw that caused them issues all game. Also best score yet for him!

Kris Hunt - Again best game yet for me, very strong at the back, little or no mistakes, having a great partnership with Jay K

Jamie K - Solid as usual cleared up everything, came very close with a trademark bullet header.

Wayne Pik - Stand in left back today did an awesome job confident on the ball linking up great with Beany down that left side.

Andy Beardmore - What can you say man of the match 2nd week running, last week best of a  bad bunch, this week best of a very good bunch, doing very well down that right hand side, got a cracking hat trick and an assist what more can you say.

Simon Gold - Engine in the midfield. could have scored with a header late on but another solid dependble performance.

Scott morgan - Ran all over the pitch today like a bull terrier closing down getting the ball, scored a goal to take him to 3 for the season !

Beany - Had acres of space down the left had a few chances some close some not so close. Some lovely work down the left with Chris Howell and Wayne Pik

Nick Jephcott - scored again to make it 13 for the season but struggled to really get in the game, could have had a second early on in the first half from a beany cross.

Andy alexander - Given a start today and showed why it was deserved, scored a lovely goal straight away and continued to work hard , some great first touches an excellent holding of the ball.

Subs -

Paul williams - came on and caused them some issues, was unlucky not to get a goal himself.

Chris Howell - Some lovely neat passing play with wayne and beany down the left did everything simple and it worked a treat.

Guy Priest - Came on at the end and was solid, no mistakes cant ask for more than that.

Injury Update

Taff (groin Injury) expected back in 1-2 weeks, however was seen busting moves in Newcastle the other friday and was playing on a kids zipline today.

Ross Edwards - Fucked until further notice

Unfortunately Polonia have won this week against Vodafone 3-2 otherwise we'd have gone top. However winning that many this week we have scored more goals than any other team in the league and our Goal difference is the seond best behind Polonia !
