Away league match played on 11 September 2016.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

The Colts were away for their first league game and played a new team. Up n Comers Hawkes were new but after the game it was evident they knew what they were doing. They loved a tackle.

A healthy crowd enjoyed some late summer sun and on a narrow and short pitch the Colts 15-16 season was up and running.

George battled well early one and shot wide.

Ryan was taking some great positions on the wing and his4 cross found Finn who's left foot shot went wide.

Will was tracking back in defence and did well to shield the ball out of play.

George was back on the attack and his shot was well saved but Ryan had taken up a great position to slot home 0-1.

The Colts season was underway in some fashion. A great strong start.

They had to defend too, first Matty P clearing up the line, Cole covering the last man, Zen making great saves and Jacob clearing well.

Ryan kept flying up the wing and another cross was just too high for Finn.

Matty P got isolated on a throw in but a double block stopped the improving Hawkes.

Back on the deck from a throw in the ball was passed from Will to Cole who set George up the wing.

George had to battle hard and did well to get up from a strong challenge which ended with him being kicked in the head. A terrible foul.

His reply....smashing in the resultant freekick. Boom. 0-2.

The Hawkes kept their head up and battled well.

Finn was quick to nick the ball from the GK and should have scored.

Ryan battled well and from his shot a scramble followed but the Colts were not able to slot home.

Ryan knocked in a couple of great corners. One after the other.

We may have been on 3G but it did'nt stop Cole sliding in and making a trademark tackle.

Jacob was settling in well and was unlucky not to stop the Hawkes #9 who made a strong run. No drama, in typical casual fashion, Zen had it covered.

Jack showed great instinct to 'catch' the ball on the line. No probs, Zen made a double save from the resultant penno.

Jacob stayed strong in the tackle and good decsion by the ref meant a disallowed goal kept the Colts in front.

Finn was unlucky not to score but the Hawkes made a great double save.

A frantic next few minutes saw Jack scrambling for the ball, Matty J making a lovley back heel and George smashing a freekick off the top of the bar.

Another hand ball, this time by the Hawkes allowed Matty J to slot the penno home. 0-3.

This game was not as straightforward as the score suggested. The Hawkes determination meant the Colts had to battle. A terrible tackle by the same player on George fortunately allowed the ref and manager to calm the game down.

Ryan kept finding lovely passes, one into Jack set him up after he took the ball lovely in his stride.

The defence had to stay strong and Jacob was showing his committment.

He and Matthew P had to stay tight and did so before Ryan nipped in to steal the ball and shoot home. 0-4.

A lovley individual goal by the Hawkes came next 1-4.

Cole kept a tight line and when it missed him. Will came in to clear up.

He was up the pitch the next attack and his chipped shot went just over.

Colts learnt to play to the whistle after it did'nt come allowing the Hawkes in 2-4.

George kept plodding away and was rewarded after another strong run 2-5.

Finn took a quick throw into Matty J who passed back to Finn who should have scored.

The game concluded with George winning the ball for Ryan to shoot 2-6.
