Away league match played on 06 February 2010.

The pitch at Blaxhall was in good condition but a bit bumpy in places. The weather was bright and sunny and almost tropical compared to last week.

The game started with Wickham pushing and trying to get a good early start but the Sax back four coped well with all they had. After a Sax attack Wickham broke quickly and the striker was through on goal, Jack came out to to narrow the angle, he appeared to take the player out and we expected the worse but the ref gave a goal kick much to our relief and the Wickham managers disgust.

The 1st 20 minutes Wickham had all the attacks but when they got through Jack kept them out. On 20 Ryan was sent on to replace Kyle and to try and change the system. Almost straight away we got a free kick. Ryan was told he could take it quickly and he put it over the wall and into the back of the net without the keeper moving. Wickham 0-1 Sax. Sax started to push and the lads were looking more settled. Rossi and Fish combined well and Fish also had two good shots, the 2nd cleared off the line. Arron then had a shot which forced a save from the keeper. On 27 Jack played a ball out to Arron he controlled it slipped it through to Ed and one on one with the keeper it was Wickham 0-2 Sax. Rossi had a good chance, done all he could lobbed the keeper but the defender got back and cleared it off the line. On 31 Arron done well to win the ball and cut across the area and hit a left foot shot that went inside the post for our third, a good finish. Ed had a chance to make it four but his shot went into the side netting. The Sax lads finished the half well after they were under the cosh for 20 minutes but they soaked up the pressure and slowly got on top to dominate the game.

Half time Wickham 0-3 sax

Sax started well again and got a corner on 42, the ball was half cleared and Arron shot it back in towards goal it came to Luke and he turned and shot to make it 4. We kept pressing and another corner was headed wide by Rossi. Wickham did have an attack but were resorting to long shots and they were not going to trouble Jack. A ball was played back to Jack and he played it long to Ed, he still had plenty to do 40 yards from goal. He held off the defender and went into the area and chipped it over the keeper good strength and a good finish Wickham 0-5 Sax. Wickham had a shot on 50 but Jack got down well to cover the shot that hit the post. Ben was put on to the right and he had an almost immediate effect, he won the ball on the right and played it to Ed who again one on one finished to complete his hat-trick. We were pushing forward and causing all sorts of problems for Wickham. Another corner saw Finchy head over and then Ben got his 1st goal of the season after a clearance came to him and with great skill it came off his leg and of the inside of the post and in for our number 7. Kyle had a good effort well saved by the keeper on 70 when it looked like a goal all the way. After another Sax corner a half cleared ball cam to Tom he played a brilliant 1-2 with Rossi got the byline and crossed it for Ryan to score a good goal and our number 8. Arron finished the scoring with a great strike from 20 yards the keeper looked like he had it covered but it hit a bump and bounced up over him, a bit unlucky for the keeper but Arron didn't mind too much Wickham 0-9 Sax.

It looked like it was going to be a perfect morning, some excellent football, some great goals and a clean sheet. Jack for some reason known to him decided after a shot had gone wide to shoulder barge the striker, they both went down and swung their handbags at each other. The ref gave them both a yellow and Jack will have to get his money out to pay the fine which was not necessary.

A good win and some good football. We have a tough test next week and it is going to be difficult to pick a team but I am sure we can give Tornadoes a good game if we play as well as we have been over the last few weeks.
