The Saints got back to winning ways in the league in style, with Boot making a remakable recovery from injury it gave the team a hugh boost. We started with a 4-3-1-2 formation as we looked to attack at will and we got of to a great start taking the lead after just 5 minutes when Dede Min ghosted in at the back post following a throw in to tap home 1-0, Simon back in goal again almost gave 22nd a gift when his attempted throw out hit Stuarty on the back of the head but he recovered the ball, 12 mins Aaron put in a superb cross to Boot who should have hit the target but powder puffed his header wide, then on 15 mins Aaron scored an absolute screamer when smashing in a 30 yarder following an assist from Geordie 2-0, 22nd had a few opportunities themselves, shooting just wide after 25 mins then Geordie clearing an effort of the line on 27 mins, Boot then brought the ball under close control before laying the ball to Aaron who shot just wide and just after the half hour mark Geordie fired in a 40 yarder which sailed over the bar, with Glenn struggling with the formation we reverted to the familiar 4-4-2, we still continued to dominate when Boot hit a fine volley just wide on 35 mins and Winky hitting the side netting from a corner a minute later before he hit a thunderbolt which knocked two 22nd players of there feet, half time 2-0, we made two changes at half time with Junior replacing Glenn and Callum coming on for the injured Dede Min, as with previous games we took our foot of the pedal which allowed 22nd back in the game, Simon making a good save on 46 mins and again a minute later when one on one saving at his left hand post, Lawrence then came of injured and was replaced with Clarke who went into right back, Clarke and Gazza who although no longer speak to each other yet remain united on the pitch exchanged a one two with Clarke then feeding the ball to Boot who skinned a 22nd player down the right wing crossing for Aaron who couldnt reach it before the 22nd keeper, on 50 mins Aaron shot in the box which was going wide only for Boot to drag it in with a back heel 3-0, Simon made another good save on the hour mark following a long range shot before 22nd got a goal back on 66 mins when slack marking allowed them back in it 3-1, we stepped it up a gear and scored our fourth when Callum played the ball to Gazza who crossed for Winky to volley home with his right foot from the edge of the box 4-1, two minutes later a great run by Aaron was noted by Gazza who hit the perfect pass for Aaron to score from inside the box 5-1, Geordie then hit a long range pass for Boot to latch onto and fire in number six on 75 mins, Aaron and Boot then shot from everywere as it became a competition to see who was gonna get the hat-trick, the honour fell to Boot 5 minutes from time when he hit a hopeful shot from 40 yards which slipped under the keepers legs to wrap up an impressive 7-1 victory for the Saints.

A very good all round team performance which sets us up nicely for next weeks quarter final against the Rangers at Clarendon, this will be our third attempt at trying to reach the semis so we need to step it up again and make it count this time. comon the Saints!!!
