Home league match played on 01 November 2014.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

The SSAFC picked up a decent win on what was a quite warm November morning with a 5-1 victory in what was clincial finishing & good teamwork to seal the win.

The game started quite sluggish with both sides losing possesion early with some sloppy play but it was the SSAFC who had the first chance when Bell saw his left footed shot go wide! The game was a midfield battle with Collins & Rowe looking to play the passes to Jackson & Chesworth on the wings. Chesworth had a good run but the cross went narrowly over and both Bell & Teale had pot shots that didnt trouble the GK. The first real attempt on goal came from Teale who's drilled low shot hit the post and went wide with the keeper beaten. Bell had an effort which went square on the defender's nuts (Ouch) and blocked the ball from going in. Watford posed pace up front but was dealt quite well by the SSAFC defence and Pickett who was debuting in goal.

The SSAFC took the lead when quick play out wide found Collins who took on and beat 2 players before squaring it to Rowe and from 20 yards out, smashed the ball into the top left hand corner despite the best efforts of the Watford keeper to make it 1-0 and a deserved lead for the SSAFC. This sparked Watford into life and they tried to get back on terms but had efforts which didnt trouble Pickett in goal. Teale then had a good chance when quick feet gave him a yard of space in the box and his powerful effort was deflected and well saved by the keeper.

The game fizzed out a bit towards the end with the ball being carelessly giving away by both sides before the h/t whistle went to signal the end of the first half and a good performance so far.

The second half saw changes with the staleward Jason Jefferies & Richard Minnis coming on and it started alot quicker with the SSAFC looking on top and pressing high. The first real effort came from Collins who's effort was wide after good work to get the ball and work it into a shooting chance. Watford looked to put pressure on the SSAFC but didnt muster any shots on goal. The second goal for the SSAFC came from the spot when a quick throw from Devall found Teale and with his back to goal, found the Watford defender with his arms over Teale & the referee gave the pen straight away, a soft one but you could see why it was given. Teale sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 2-0.

The floodgates opened a bit and the SSAFC got a third when good play from Teale outside the box and his pulled pass found an unmarked Bell who slotted into the near corner to make it 3. It soon became 4 when good play on the left to get the ball back & Scarrott curled in a lovely ball which found Bell who got the touch to guide it in and make it 4-0. The SSAFC looked on top but Watford still had chances, their striker missing the target & a few potshots. Watford then got back in the game when a through ball found their winger who slotted it past Pickett, the clean sheet isnt coming for the SSAFC yet! Dissapointing really.

Watford then could have another in quick succession but a great save from Pickett denied it and Scarrott cleared away. The game was being drawn out until the final minutes when Teale got his 2nd of the game when good play from Devall found Teale who teased the defence & keeper and went round them and his first effort was blocked on the line but his second effort went in via the hand of the Watford defender and crossed the line.

The action finished shortly after with the SSAFC victorious and making it 6 wins from 6 in what is a very good spell for the SSAFC
