Away league match played on 16 October 2011.

After last weeks impressive victory over Division 4 outfit Murphy's in the cup 3-0 we came into this weeks game against top of the table rivals Priors United having to make changes yet again to the team due to absence and injuries.

We had 15 players last week this week only 12 and for the first 45 mins the game was very evenly matched, both sides cancelling each other out in the middle of the park in particular and also at the back.

Simon made one important challenge which earnt us a free kick and saw them celebrate as the ball hit the back of the net. Thankfully this was disallowed we finnished the first half creating very little really but always threatening.

We wethered a late storm towards the end of the first half which saw them have a lot of poesession and they did have one more opportunity before the break which came from a hopeful punt from their keeper which caught Jase out because he lost it in the sun and bounced very luckily into the path of the oncoming striker. Simon closed the space down quickly and the striker squirmed his shot wide.

Half time came and a few words were said and second half we started brightly moving the ball quicker and with more purpose.

We used both wings more and Joe and Ross were again linking well up front with Both Adam and Wes supporting and putting in good quality balls whcih were lacking in the first half.

Stevie and Stace in midfield strated to dictate teh paly as well and spread the ball in behind their defenders and finaly from a through ball by Stace Ross broke the deadlock with a well taken goal on the turn.

From then on we didnt look back again a ball from Stace in Central Midfield fed Adam Letts who swung in a peach of a cross hard and low with his left peg which saw Joe swoop and score his first goal of the season which was excellent for both him and Adam because they were both working extremely hard.

As expected they pushed extra men forward trying to nick a goal back and defensively we were excellent all game. Matty Saunders and Matty Chinn in particular doing excellent work at RB/LB. Tom and Jason stood strong and dealt with everything they could throw at us and apart from a corner they had near the end which just went wide we sealed the game with about 10 minutes to go with a great corner in form Matty Chinn which was met perfectly in the air by Jason who took his header well into the bottom corner.

So anothjer impressive performance and while I dont beleive we were at our best yesterday we still came out victorious who up until that point our opponents had not lost a game all season.

We cannot get complacent lad's we have to kick on and treat every game on it's merit we have a good squad which will be tested to it's limits over the coming weeks, However if we can keep putting performances like yesterday where we were patient and capitalised on our strengths then we wont go far wrong. Keep it going now lad's Midland Rangers at Home Next Week where we need to continue winning to maintain the pressure on Chadwick End and Priors United.
