Home league match played on 28 October 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

I normaly write on these pages to discuss the football and to have a written testament of our season as it progresses but today I witnessed probably one of the ugliest and down right nasty part of the game in its entirety.

We won 3-2 we out played them we out battled them we kept our heads and we never once lowered ourselves to their level.

The game started with Fox shouting a lot you know the kind of thing my penis is bigger than your penis, My Dad's bigger then your Dad the ususal Neanderthal type stuff you tend to equate to a mere pub team. If you were not there you can kind of understand the atmosphere they were trying to create.

Well the bottom line is I had three players from my team Assaulted, Yes that is correct Assaulted One punched in the head off the ball, One stamped on when on the ground and the third and most serious suffering a broken leg in two places.

The Ref did his best i have no doubt two of the incidents he saw and should have sent the players off, One,  the punch he did not, but that a side do we really want this in our game.

There are a number of things wrrong about our National game many I can rant on about for hour's but this is not about football this was about society in general bringing there hatred and bile onto the football field and using it as a platform to inflict pain and misery to others.

There is a distinct lack of respect now for players and this outfit signified it on the pitch today. It was like playing Railway all over again except at least with Railway they were a half descent team.

Gone are the days that you played your game you battled hard but you never intentinaly went out to hurt people and if you did catch somebody late you were full of apologies and you shook hands and moved on.

Nah I am afraid Societies ills have spilled onto our playing fields and parks all over the country the Staurday night wanna be Ronaldo turns up on a Sunday with his Fluroscent boots  his concoction of Caffeine Stimulants, his 20 B&H and sporting his trademark tatoo of a Swallow on his neck, and he thinks he is Messi, Of course the sad reality is that once he has fell over the ball a few times maybe ran into Joss or Fill or Matty S and realised there is no way past them they switch into Neanderthal Mode, Their Knuckles suddenly strat dragging the F word is used more frequently then their contribution to the team, and then the synical digs the punchs the broken leg's occur.

I paint a gloomy picture I know the problem is i see it at younger ages too, Which really saddens me I reffed agame not so long back where the manager was actualy telling the 16yr old lads to make sure they got booked as if they didnt they hadnt contributed to the team.

What the Fuck is that all about. Come on, Sometimes you have to hold your hand up and say I might not be Marinio or Fergueson but I know what is right and what is wrong. I respect and I win, lose or draw with dignity and so does my team.

You guy's yesterday were a credit the three points were merely a bonus under the circumstances my philosophy will never change I hope you guy's dont either it is easy to get carried away with the moment let you fist's do the talking it meand your a loser you cant handle defeat you cant handle being beaten by a better more disciplined and technicaly gifted football team, You did the hard work yesterday you won with pride and were a credit to our Club.

I have spoken with praise about you lad's your maturity in adverse conditions with our President and secretary. I will not let this go unnoticed by our football club.

A report will go to the league today about the game from me they need to be notified of the situation.

In the meantime I wish Matty and Sam a speedy recovery Sammy will be in plaster for 6 weeks and Matty got away with a badly bruised hand it cpould have been a lot worse and he should be fine in a couple of days once the swelling goes down.

So on to the match Adam Maltby MOM for me he was superb along with the entire back four Joss and Fillipo bagged a goal each and held our midfield together well and Ross scored a cracker to get us off the mark,

Sam And Stace did well on the flanks and gave us plenty of width and Simon was his ususal commanding self inbetween the sticks.

Dont get me wrong boy's the result yesterday was massive I asked for a reaction afetr we played these lot and lost I got one the events of the game has some what overshadowed my report today, I can handle the odd obstruction the gamesmanship the timewasting the ususal nigglyl little things that are part of our game dont like them but I accept them. I dont accept what happened yesterday. So to all of you a big well done I am very proud of you and you can be very proud of yourselves. we move on to next week and hopefully a game played in the spirit it was meant to be played in I know it will be by us.
