Away league match played on 22 January 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

After a great win and team performance last week It was imperative we continued the momentum and turning up to play second from bottom at Newbold Common the game reslly should have been a formality.

However once we arrived at Newbold we quickly realised that the conditions could play a major part in the match as the wind was horrific.

By 11am it had got stronger and although we dominated in the early exchanges our final ball was just not there Ross and Ash came close but some fine saves by the keeper denied them and the breakthrough came with a bright move down the right by Wes saw a ball played into the middle and Ash finnished well no more then we deserved afyter most of the play.

However like i said the wind would play a factor in this game and with us kicking with the wind first half we had to make it pay and while we tried to play it around we lost poesession when Mastty Chinn collided with Gav and the ball broke fortuitously to Inter MB and a great save by Simon demied them an equaliser.

Scare over we attacked gon forcing a couple of corners which Ross despatched brilliantly dropping great balls into the danger area one of which Gav finnished well on the volleyto put us two nil up.

As I said we had most of the poesession and only a couple of times did we get caught a bit but both times we defended extremely well. Stevie was starting to dominate midfield and Jason was playing intelligent short balls where possible.

Gav and Tom were dealing with the aerial threat well and Matty Saunders and Matty Chinn were both overlapping and defending well so going into half time we looked comfortable at 2-0.

Second Half we knew was going to be tuff we had the wind against us and true to form Inter started well dominating the early stages, However defensively we were excellent and we soaked and early pressure up and had a couple of chances to go 3-0 but again the keeper who played very well for inter denied us.

Ross was having one of those games where he was doing everything right but was being denied by some great keeping.

As the game pressed on we started to look tired and our front two were playing more with their backs to goal so chnages were needed Fill cam on for Stevie and Luke made his debut up front alongside Ross and Joe came on for Jason.

Joe made an impact straight away winning the ball from midfield and dinking a lovely ball up to behing their back four which Luke latched on to an d finnished superbly to put us 3-0 up.

That was just what we needed and from then on we dominated with some excellent passing and moving. We looked rejuvinated.

Food for thought now lad's we have potentially three players away next week and changes will need to be made if that is the case. The result was good but with only four points up until yesterday seperating us and third we need to keep going and the squad will be used and tested.

This is where the lad's who are on the bench can earn their corn and stake a place in the starting 11 as I have said before we have a good squad and everybody wants to play you will all get your chance and when you do all I will say is make an impression make it difficult for me and Dave to chose our starting 11.

Joe played well yesterday when he came on but has not been around since before Xmas no good to me or the team we need him their  every week, Players will be played on merit and commitment will come first above all else.

Matty Haycock was unlucky not to get on this week but he will get his chance again, We are playing in the big boys league now lad's sitting in 2nd place with a cup final still to come.

Yes its fantastic it's better then I would of ever expected in our first season so lets keep going and remember we are a team a squad and everybodies and I mean everybody has contributed to our success to date so bge very proud lad's
