What a huge performance from the boys today! Coming back from 3–0 down at half-time to finish 4–4 shows incredible character, belief, and teamwork. The lads never gave up, kept encouraging each other, and showed fantastic determination to turn the game around. It was a brilliant example of resilience and fighting spirit.

In Possession

In the first half, we found it difficult to move the ball out from defence and pick the right passes to progress up the pitch. We were a little rushed at times and struggled to find our rhythm going forward.

However, the second half was a completely different story. The boys were excellent, with our two strikers playing high it really helped stretch the pitch and gave us a strong outlet to play into. This allowed the team to push higher up the pitch and support attacks much quicker. Our shape worked really well, especially with the defensive midfielders stepping forward to create overloads in wide areas. This gave us more options and helped us control the game.

Our passing improved massively in the second half, with some fantastic bits of football played to create goal-scoring opportunities. We moved the ball quicker, showed more confidence, and worked hard to find space. We were very unlucky not to score even more goals. A huge positive was that most of the second half was played in the opposition’s half, which shows how much pressure we were putting on them.

Out of Possession

Without the ball, we were a little too stand-offish in the first half and didn’t show enough aggression when trying to win it back. At half-time, we spoke about increasing our intensity, and the response from the boys was outstanding.

In the second half, the aggression, energy, and desire to win the ball back were excellent. We pressed much higher up the pitch, which made it difficult for Alderley to play out from the back. Our strikers did a brilliant job setting the tone by pressing quickly from their goal kicks, allowing the rest of the team to push up and win possession in dangerous areas. This high press caused them lots of problems and was a key reason we were able to get back into the game.

? Players of the Match – Jacob P & Raff

Jacob P was outstanding today. He played his position brilliantly and made a big impact both in and out of possession. On the ball, he looked to pass forward into dangerous areas and drove up the right side to give us an important attacking outlet. His positive play was a big factor in helping us turn the game around.

Raff was also excellent. He provided two assists for our second and third goals, showing great awareness and quality in the final third. His work rate from the front was superb — pressing defenders, closing players down quickly, and even tracking back to help when needed. His effort and determination really lifted the team.

Me and Tom were extremely proud of the character the boys showed today. To come back from 3–0 down and earn a draw shows real belief and togetherness. It’s a massive positive and something the whole team should feel proud of.
