U10s Whites Match Report ??

??? Date: Sunday 8th February

?? Opponents: Future City Tigers

?? Result: 1–4

?? Competition: League Match

This was a challenging game for the boys against a very strong and well-organised team. Although the result did not go our way, the players showed great character, teamwork, and determination by battling right until the final whistle. They never gave up and continued to support each other throughout the match, which is something to be very proud of.

In Possession

During the first half, we found it difficult to play out from the back and move the ball up the pitch. This was mainly due to the high-quality pressing from the opposition, which made it hard for us to find space and time on the ball. At times, our passing was a little slow and lacked direction, which meant we struggled to build our attacks.

However, in the second half, there was a big improvement. The boys showed much more confidence on the ball, with better first touches and quicker passing. This allowed us to move the ball more effectively and create more chances going forward. A huge positive from the game was that we won the second half 1–0 against one of the strongest teams in the league, which shows how much progress the team is making. Our ability to use Noah in our build-up play has continued to improve, and it is great to see the team trusting him more each week.

Out of Possession

When we didn’t have the ball in the first half, we were a little short on intensity and aggression, which allowed the opposition to control the game. We spoke at half-time about working harder, closing players down quicker, and helping each other more defensively.

In the second half, the response from the boys was excellent. Their energy, effort, and teamwork improved greatly, and everyone worked hard to win the ball back. Using the Powerplay gave us an extra player, which helped us get back into the game and put more pressure on the opposition. After scoring, we changed our shape to a 1-2-1-2, which gave us more defensive stability and made it harder for the opposition to create chances. This organisation and discipline helped us see out the second half strongly.

? Player of the Match – Noah

Noah was outstanding today. He made several fantastic saves in the first half that kept us in the game and showed great bravery and concentration. In the second half, he continued to perform brilliantly, making important saves and communicating well with his teammates to make sure we stayed organised.

?? Goal: Sam

?? Assist: Jacob D

Overall, this was a very well-fought game against a strong side. Winning the second half 1–0 is a huge positive and shows the improvement, attitude, and resilience of the team. If the boys continue to work hard and believe in themselves, the results will follow.

Well done to everyone for their effort and commitment.

See you all at training on Tuesday.

Thanks,

Jayden and Tom ??
