U10s Whites Match Report ??

??? Date: Sunday 23rd March

?? Opponents: Macclesfield Elite

?? Result: 2โ€“5

?? Competition: Champions Cup Match

An unfortunate result today against a strong and well-organised Macclesfield side. Despite the scoreline, there were lots of positives to take from the performance, especially with how the boys played and competed throughout the game.

In Possession

The boys were brilliant when in possession. We moved the ball around the pitch really well, showing great confidence and composure to build our attacks. The passing and movement were excellent at times, allowing us to progress forward and create some very good goal-scoring opportunities.

In both halves, we had long spells where we dominated territory and kept the ball in the oppositionโ€™s half. This is a huge positive and shows how much the boys are improving in their ability to control games. We created several chances where, with a little more confidence in front of goal and willingness to shoot, we could have added more goals to our tally.

It was great to see the boys score two well-worked goals, which were fully deserved for the way we played. Overall, our attacking play continues to improve, and if we keep working on our finishing, the goals will continue to come.

Out of Possession

Out of possession, the boys worked hard and showed good organisation. We limited Macclesfield to only a few clear chances, but unfortunately they were very clinical and made the most of the opportunities they had.

The pressing and aggression from the team were strong throughout the game, and the boys did well to maintain their shape and work together defensively. One key moment we identified was conceding goals very soon after we had scored. This made it difficult for us to build momentum and get back into the game.

Going forward, we will focus on maintaining concentration and staying switched on straight after scoring, as these moments are crucial in games. If we can improve this, it will make a big difference in tight matches.

? Players of the Match โ€“ Seth & Raff

Seth had an excellent game, contributing both a goal and an assist. He caused constant problems for the opposition defenders with his movement and energy, and he did really well to get into dangerous attacking positions. He took his goal confidently and was a key part of our attacking play throughout.

Raff also had a fantastic performance, finishing with a goal and an assist. He worked incredibly hard both in and out of possession, helping to link up play and drive the team forward. His effort to win the ball back and support his teammates was outstanding, and he showed great quality when taking his goal which heโ€™s been working really hard on at training and it shows to be paying off.

?? Goals: Seth, Raff

?? Assists: Seth, Raff

Me and Tom were really pleased with the overall performance. There are just a few small details to improve, and if we continue playing like this, we will definitely start turning these performances into wins.

Well done to all the boys โ€” keep working hard and believing.

See you all at training on Tuesday.

Thanks,

Jayden and Tom ??
