St Michaels Football Club

For a few years now discussions have gone on regarding starting of an 11 a side Sunday Football Team to run out of St Michaels Social Club in Abbey Wood. As interest among the youngers members grew a six a side team was formed to play firstly in a League that was played at Trinity School and for the last few months at The David Beckham Academy at the O2. The team was very successful in the first league and they won the League quite comfortably. They are currently 5th in the LDN Greenwich Monday League but only 2 points from the top. This is a good achievement considering that they joined the League late and had to take on the record of a lesser side. Having had our first meeting it is the intention to enter an eleven a side team in the Kent Suburban Sunday League for the 2011/2012 season. We are in the process of applying for this League and also to affiliate to the Kent County Football Association.
