Inter Menan 1 vs 1 Eastfield Boys

Willan Stars in Inter Draw! <p style="text-align: center;">A season high crowd high of 12 watched Inter Menan draw in a table topping clash Vs Eastfield Boys. The lads were on a high from last weeks demolition of Spa FC with the manager sticking&nbsp;with the same victorious team. <p style="text-align: center;">In a pulsating encounter which in truth could of gone either way Menan pressed on early looking for first blood. Several moves came and went with very few goalscoring opportunities in the early knockings. <p style="text-align: center;">The first real chance came to Athletico Harchesterio old boy Drew McCoubery who after riding a couple of tackles found himself one on one with Menans No&nbsp;1 Dave Lovell, who he could not pass for the games opener. <p style="text-align: center;">Inter then came their closest to breaking the deadlock after Jack Willan sent a sizzling left footed drive just over the left hand upright. <p style="text-align: center;">The first half saw many tackles from both teams and some good tracking back from the Inter Menan midfielders, most noteably Phil Warnett. <p style="text-align: center;">Half Time - 0 v 0 <p style="text-align: center;">Much of the same was instore for the crowd in the 2nd half of the game with the Menan midfielders pulling out some great blocks, tracking back and covering. This however affected their goal getting approach as Horncastle and Dobson at times became very isolated. <p style="text-align: center;">The 19th minute came and brought the game its first goal, after Warnett lost the ball in midfield Damian Devine pushed on towards the halfway line unoposed by any Menan players, before letting fly with a thunderbolt even Pikachu would of been proud of!! The jurys still out as to whether Menan keeper Disco Dave should of kept it out but the crowd were woo'd by the swerve and dip of the strike. <p style="text-align: center;">The Inter lads found themselves behind and quickly knuckled down to an attacking style which at times was being scuppered by some over hit Warnett passes. <p style="text-align: center;">Dobson had latched onto an Eastfield Defensive error and warmed up the keeper shortly before he did beat him and drew the sides level. <p style="text-align: center;">Warnett hit a corner to his target and Dobson finished in style at the near post to find himself level with Horncastle in the Golden boot stakes! <p style="text-align: center;">With chants from the crowd of "When the ball hits the goal its not Shearer or Cole, It's DOBSON" ringing around the Pinder Astro Arena the game once again got back into the midfield battle pattern and quickly fizzled out into a 1-1 draw. <p style="text-align: center;">Match sponsors "Eastfield Ho's for rent" awarded the man of the match gong to Jack Willan for an expert display of man management on his striking opposite number Drew Mccoubery. <p style="text-align: center;">When asked how he felt the game went, Jack had this to say to our touchline reporter Rich Book - "Ye i played rite good like, n this champers will cum in handy for saturdays piss up wi the lads.
