Mccoubrey sinks Menan!
Former Athletico Harchesterio Leg-End Drew Mccoubrey put Inter Menan to the sword with 4 goals in a 5-2 victory for Eastfield Boys in an almost title deciding game at the top with Menan being the equivelant of X Factor twins John and Edward absolutely sh*te!!!.
The Eastfield boys were at it from the off as they took the game by the short and curlys with Damo Devine bringing the best out of Tony Ross as he flung himself to his right, pulling off a wonder save.
It did not take long before Mccoubrey set the ball rolling, he came in to the game fired up, answering his critics in the Evening Blues who had stated "He can't perform up against Menan's Jack Willan, Willan has him in his pocket every tme, etc". Not on this occasion, not tonight!
Mccoubrey jinked his way past Willan before slotting into Ross's net to send the eastfield boys 1-0 in the 3rd minute of the game! Like Seamer road buses the second came along in no time as Big Mc doubled his and Eastfield's tally much to the delight of Van Dodson and the Tidystar gang on the sidelines with Van Dodson struggling to keep hold of his emotions and sensationally weeing his pants!
The Menanians were a struggling outfit missing Boro town due Hawke and inspirational Menan Captain Patterson. Patterson was on the sidelines defending his team and responding to the crowds hate with jibes of "ur only beating our reserves!"
Sadly the score took another turn for the worse as the Menanians looked about as lifeless as the morning after an 8 hr binge in Majorca as Eastfield took full advantage and smacked in number 3, courtesy of Mccoubrey who bagsyed the match ball!
Menan did begin a fight back with some efforts of their own, Bradshaw smacking a post and the Eastfield number 1 pulling off some top saves.
It was billed as a potential title clinching game for Menan, it was becoming a nightmare as the half time hooter echoed around the arena.
Half Time Menan 0 v 3 Eastfield Boys
The Menan team containing Bradshaw and Dobson were struggling to gel or get up for the game as Greening fired over into the Factory Road End!
Menan did finally hit back as Dobson weeved his way through to goal and found himself one on one before strangely for him squaring to Dorey for his 13th of the season, quite astonishing by Dobson who rarely passes up the opportunity to be the hero!
Quite fittingly for the night and in keeping with the game the Eastfield boys and Mccoubrey slammed any home of a come back with the 4th of the night for the red and white stripes.
At this point Willan began the march to Alan Marshalls tune, seeing red for the 3rd time this season.
Dobson produced the goal of the game as Greening picked out the buck toothed front man on the left, he entered a steady gallop and set off toward goal producing step over after step over that Roy Wegerley himself would of been proud of, before slamming home his strike into the corner of the net! a quite sublime goal and one Dobson will surely tell his next pull in Boleyns about!
Goal number 5 for Eastield was next on the bill as they finished the game off with another great team move.
It seems to be a dreadful end of the season for Menan with title hopes now in the balance as Eastfield take on TidyStar next week with Menan hoping for an Eastfield victory!
Touchline reporter Brooke Roblestein caught up with a semi naked Plumpton after the team bath and he added "There seems to be rumours of a potential match throwing next week, all i can say is i hope Mccoubrey remembers his routes. He was a legend in these parts selling a record 47 number 69 shirts in a season, lets hope he has a heart!"
A dejected looking Plumpton who was seen trudging off in tears picked up the Man of the Match award and dedicated the gong to the loss close to all our hearts over the weekend. "I would lke to dedicate the award to Kandy rain, there is no way you should of been ousted from X Factor in the first week, you girls were well bang tidy"!
