Seventh heaven for Dobson

Buck toothed Menan hero Cameron Dobson lit up the Pindar Astro Arena with seven goals to add to his ever growing tally of 43 goals in 26 appearances, sending him well clear of his nearest golden boot competitor Willan (24 Goals).

In truth the game was a farce, although it was a farce that started farcically for Pickard in the Menan rear as he gave Edgehill a shock 1-0 lead in the early stages. Ross in the Menan pipes was furious with his big centre half and gave him a piece of his mind calling him several insults such as “idiot boy” and “Div head”. This seemed to take its toll on Pickard as his head went down as he gave the ball away on numerous occasions during the half, not to mention spurning a one on one with the goal gaping like Paris Hilton’s legs at a Take That after party!

The Edgehill boys were taunting the Menanians with yells of “these guys are top, they’re Sh*te”. With this echoing around the famous stadium the boys in orange began to move the ball like no other team can (Apart from maybe Arsenal, oh and Real Madrid, oh and Newcastle – but maybe not quite so much them). Unfortunately for the small Inter Menan fan base the boys had left their shooting boots back in the locker room as several guilt edge chances came and went, most notably Stevens who had obviously not realised you only get a point if it goes in the net and not around it!

The difference in class began to tell as current footballing form player and all time Menan hall of famer Jack Willan stepped up to the plate becoming the bigger man. The buccaneering midfield maestro’s game has been top notch of late, coinciding with his giving up of his love of Gambling, Whisky, Turpentine and Lager. Willan notched Menan’s first after unselfish play by the second smallest player on the pitch, Plumpton.

Then a series of goals followed involving Dobson and Willan with Dobson firing home a record seven goals in one game and Willan hitting a further two to take his tally for the season to double figures.

Further strikes by Stevens and a left footed pearler by Plumpton followed.

New Menanian Ruud Van Graysockselrooy also got in on the act as he stormed home the 9th Menan goal of the game, and was unlucky not to notch more. The bookies have been inundated with punters placing their “Rock n Roll” money on Graysockselrooy coming away with the golden boot at the end of the season with an insider adding “he’s just so sharp, his feet are like Stavros Flatly and the way he hits the ball just reminds me of a young moustache-less Ian Rush”

The man of the match award was given out by none other than music great Bono as he was passing by recording his part in the charity song for the Haiti earthquake at the Stephen Joseph Theatre. He gave the award to Dobson for living the dream and showing that if you perceiver dreams can come true, with Dobsons longstanding dream of going the full night without wetting his huggies and also following in the footsteps of Romanian goal scoring great Florin Raducioiu.
