Inter Menan 7 vs 2 Legion Allstars

Graysocks at the treble!!!!     THE 9th March 2010 will go down as the greatest day in Mike Graysocks life; nothing will surely ever top this as he did indeed bag a hatrick for the global sports brand that is Inter Menan FC. Graysocks joins an elite list of players including current heroes; - Willan, Plumpton, Dobson, Ward and the injured Dorey.   It seems every week the Menan players find themselves embroiled in tabloid tom foolery as Plumpton was the latest Menanian to hit the front page.  On the way to the game and also whilst driving the team Ford Ka Sports (with go faster stripe) Plumpton was indeed stopped by the old Bill. It became apparent that Plumpton had committed driving offence 1480B – Speeding on the way to a soccer match. Luckily for Plumpton and obviously more importantly in the overall big picture, Menan, Plumpton got off scott free with an insider claiming Plumpton “Worked his magic” in the bobbys chariot of law.   The first period was underway and it didn’t take Plumpton long to stamp his authority on the game, just as he had done moments before on the back seat of the Ford Galaxy belonging to PC Peter Plod, as he ran onto a knock down from the nights target man Willan. After a neat piece of control Plumpton side footed the ball past the helpless Allstar keeper to give Menan the early lead they had craved the week before in their demise vs Westover Wasps. Plumptons goal drought was over much to the Menanians home crowds delight!   Willan was causing havoc up top with his large frame and nodding dog like heavy head, and he was next to fire at the Legion Allstars goal with a thunderous right footed volley, which surprised even him. As the ball cannoned back off the crossbar the Menanians sniffed blood as the Allstars were being worked like a set of Dutch hookers and it didn’t take them long to fire in the hole, that’s the goal not the hookers….   Willan hit home, before once again assisting another goal, this time for Graysocks. Graysocks found acres of space infront of goal took aim and slammed the ball past the keeper with ultimate ease and celebrated in style by pulling out his trademark celebration – the robot.   Incredibly the Menanians were to see something of pure gold, frankincense and indeed Mir as Graysocks lit the stadium alight, the crowd were giving rapturous applause as he thundered an outside of the right duke strike from a good 20 yards in to the bottom right of the goal, and almost certainly engraving his name on the goal of the season trophy. He once again followed up this act with his robot celebration, the crowd were like putty in his hands, and he was in heaven!   Half Time – Inter Menan 3 v Neil Team Todd   It wasn’t all plain sailing for Menan as the Allstars rallied at half time, it was obvious their manager Alex Funguson had thrown some soccer boots as not only had their number 9 emerged from the changing rooms with a stud hanging off his beak but they were indeed up for it and found the back of Ross’s net, once again leaving him with dirty sheets…   Menan were shocked, the game was theirs. They thought they were in control and indeed they were until Ross went stir crazy by bowling out one of his throws straight to a Allstar forward!!! Ross shrieked as he knew he had done a whoopsy but it couldn’t stop the ball flying past him and cutting the Tangerines score to a mere 1 strike in the goal.   Team captain for the night Phil Pickard quickly roused his troops by threatening to do the “Truffle shuffle” in the changing rooms and this spurred the Menanians into action.   Graysocks was on fire; his form was there for all to see. Its only 89 days until the Football Mundial World cup squad is selected by Fabio da Rapello and on this showing he could indeed be in it as he notched his third and Menans fourth of the day. A truly momentous moment for the gangly Menanian who looked set to take home the match soccer.   Graysocks had calmed the nerves and Menan in truth should have had the game dead and buried as Willan decided it was much more fun to hit the woodwork than the net!   Willan did make it 2 for his own personal goal crusade as Graysocks showed he had a “Giving” side as well as being an obvious “Taker”. This was followed up by Menan new boy Jon Bateman who notched in the final moments of the game to give himself his own debut goal.   Bateman was grabbed after the game and was asked how he felt having scored such a crucial goal in Menans season by our touchline reported Gail Hailstorm who has been off work recently due to a reported sexual liable case involving former Royal Oak star and Menan transfer target Howard Carter. Bateman said between gasps “I’m made up, I’ve drempt of a return to the club I grew up supporting and to score on my 2nd debut really makes you realise I’ve reached my goal in life”. Bateman was then rushed off by the Menan medical team as he had been blowing out of his Ar*e with his heartbeat at a truly alarming rate…..   The Man of the Match as rewarded by local town Entrepreneurs Alan Sugar and Norris from Corrie, who it is said are to be looking to invest in Menan gave the after match “Luco”zade to Graysocks for being the key man.
