Big Willy Style sinks Todd   Forget Michael Owen, 8/12/09 will be remembered for a famous hatrick by none other than our very own Menan Hero – Jack Seamous Willan.   The evening started in spectacular fashion as Menan gave a long awaited debut to new boy Philip Pickard. The crowds gathered at the Pindar Astro Arena as the bright orange team coach pulled up full to the brim with Menan heroes. Pickard was the last to depart the coach and the crowd went in to frenzy. Local police called the stewarding of the arrival of one of Scarborough local leagues most famous players “A shambles” and Boro Mayer Stuart Hicks has promised a full review in to the disaster which saw 14 Menan diehards crushed to death as the crowd pushed forward to get a scratch and sniff of their hero.   Signing Pickard is a big coop for Menan with shirt sales rising by 0.7% in a single day, a quite astonishing figure and one sure to add to the mediocre transfer funds available, especially with Menanian Willan gambling the last £25 in the kitty (by backing Queen of the South to win on his accumulator).   Finally after a 25 minute kick off delay due to Pickards entourage making sure he was waxed and relaxed the action got under way with Menan taking on Team Todd in their first ever league meeting.   The tangerines were without any superstars with Captain Patterson missing due to Man Utd toenail and Greendog away as his mum wouldn’t let him out as he had too much homework. The collection of local league bad players in Orange had to set about their task with a workman like ethic. Willan and Plumpton in the engine room, Pickard propping up the rear and Dorey and vice skipper Gez Ward leading the line.   Without the big timers Menan failed to get into their usual slick rhythm although their appetite for success was never at question when suddenly Ward picked out Plumpton with a quick free kick, only for the little midfielder to strike the keeper when well placed. It was obvious Dorey had been taking dancing lessons as he preformed the Waltz with his opposite number with countless stepovers and turns!   Menan were always in control but were lacking the finishing touch in front of the pokey with several moves just breaking down at the vital time either by Menan turdness or Todd superduperdefendingness. The defending got the better of Team Todd as Willan was felled on the left. Willan was quickest to react as he plucked the ball from the floor, positioned it with purpose and rifled an arrow like shot that Robin Hood himself would have been proud of as it found the bottom corner of the Todd net.   The rest of the first half passed without much action apart from the 7 pitch invasion from screaming Menan and Phil Pickard fans who just wanted to hold their hero, but were quickly rejected from the Pindar astro arena with the sound of gun shots ringing through the air moments later.   Half time   Menan 1 v Neil Team Todd   The Menanians always looked in control at the back; it was just their forward finishing that was a bit Ade Akinbiyi with Dorey and Ward missing opportunities to fill their boots with goals.   Luckily for Menan they were fielding a player on form as usual last man Willan strode forward down the left and was picked out by a lucky trademark bunger from Pickard. Willan’s touch was a delight for all to see as he destroyed the net like Ron Jeremy destroys his pray with a fabby dabby dozzy of a strike from all of 13.4 yards out.   More good times were to come for Menan and Willan as a rare flowing Menan move saw Gez Ward pick out two goal hero Willan and he did the rest with another typically powerful strike and sealing his first ever hatrick for the new homed Hole in the Wall based club.   4 games and 4 victories sees the Menanians enter next weeks cup group game with Eastfield Boys in good form; can they keep up the good work?   The man of the match was undoubtedly given to Willan for his first Menan hatrick, with the midfield powerhouse admitting after the game that he was quite taken back by it all “it’s definitely one ill never forget, its moments like this why we play soccer” said an emotional Willan
