The Somerset JPL was founded in 2017 and currently has 12 teams competing in the U13 age group. The teams are based in Bath, Radstock, Street, and Shaftesbury.
The Aims of the Somerset JPL
- To provide progression, opportunity, and challenge to all players and coaches.
- To create a unique opportunity for players to experience an academy-like system in a fun and holistic manner.
- To encourage players to be footballers first, play with freedom, and express themselves without fear.
The Structure of the Somerset JPL
The Somerset JPL is a league-based competition, with each team playing each other once during the season. The top two teams at the end of the season qualify for the JPL National Finals, which are held in May.
The Somerset JPL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Somerset JPL Cup, the Somerset JPL Challenge Cup, and the Somerset JPL Plate.
